TISCO Attended Strategy Seminar on Discovering China Creativity
OREANDA-NEWS. January 31, 2013. High Level Strategy Seminar on discovering China Creativity and 2012 China Creativity Award Ceremony was held in the Great Hall of the People, Beijing. The annual list of 2012 China Creativity was issued. TISCO won the 2012 China Creativity Product Award. Li Xiaobo, Chairman of Board of Directors of TISCO, attended and made the report of Responsibility and Pursuit: the Leader in Green Iron and Steel Manufacture. TISCO’s practices about business operations based on social responsibility, implementing innovation-driven strategy, building innovative culture, taking the lead in the upgrade of technology, products, energy saving and environmental protection and fully improving the creativity were praised by the conference attendees, reported the press-centre of TISCO.
Lu Jianping, Vice President of the Xinhua News Agency; Gu Shengzu, member of the NPC Standing Committee and Vice President of CDNCA; Hao Ping, Deputy Minister of Education; Yang Chaofei, Chief Engineer of Ministry of Environmental Protection; Yao Jingyuan,Special Research Fellow in Counselors’ Office of State Council, the former Chief Economist of China National Bureau of Statistics; Li Junru,the former Vice President of Party School of CPC; and He Jiang, Finance and Economy Committee of the NPC, attended the seminar and award ceremony. The business representatives from Huawei, CSR Corporation Limited, Guangxi Yuchai Heavy Industry Co. Ltd., Haier and so on attended the meeting.
Li Xiaobo pointed out in his report that iron and steel is a functional material, its role can not be replaced in the progress of industrialization, urbanization and building well-off society in an all-around way, it has great growth potential. The pressures coming from resource and environmental protection present serious challenges for the transformation and upgrading of iron and steel industry. For iron and steel industry, the most important transformation and upgrading is to make the main business stronger and better, this is also crucial to China creativity in iron and steel industry.
Combining with TISCO’s innovative development practice, Li Xiaobo said that, in order to nurture the China creativity, we must create the original core technologies, develop the first-class products and have strong sense of responsibility and mission. He said that TISCO implements the innovation-driven strategy, builds innovative culture, continually makes new breakthroughs in the key technologies of the production processes, technologies, product types and raw materials of the stainless steel-based special steel, and firmly takes the lead in the international competition. TISCO insists on giving full play to the advantage of backwardness, has rapidly built itself into the largest stainless steel producer in the world with the most advanced technologies and equipment and the full range of products and specifications. TISCO drives the progress of China’s stainless steel industry and became an example to enhance China’s creativity. TISCO is not afraid to take risks in the product R&D and environmental protection, creates many firsts in the stainless steel industry, seizes the market opportunities, leads the company to the world, opens a new way to promote and apply the advanced technologies and plays a positive role in promotion of the technological progress of the stainless steel industry.
Li Xiaobo pointed out that we can make creation only when we have the innovation; the enterprise and the nation will become stronger only when we have creation. To improve the China’s creativity is of great significance to the Chinese Dream of realizing the national rejuvenation. Now the development prospect of the steel industry is broad, we are confident in our ability to take our responsibility and mission and blaze a new way for China’s creation.
Li Xiaobo was also invited to take part in the roundtable discussion of 2012 Witness to China’s creativity and received an interview by reporters. He addressed that innovation is the only way to gain competitive advantage. In order to stand out from the competition and become the industry leader from the follower, we must rely on innovation, especially build an innovative team, and promote the product and technology innovations under the current situation of overcapacity of many traditional industries.
