Head of FAS Took Part in Meeting on Pharmaceutical Market
OREANDA-NEWS. January 31, 2013. The Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) Igor Artemyev visited the Kaluga region to take part in a meeting devoted to developing competition on the pharmaceutical market, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.
The meeting was led by the First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, Igor Shuvalov.
Along with FAS representatives, the event was attended by the Minister for Cooperation with the Open Government, Mikhail Abyzov, and the Health Minister, Veronika Skvortsova.
Participants discussed the key issues of developing competition on Russian pharmaceutical market.
At the visiting meeting, participants outlined the six main areas, approved by the Government of the Russian Federation, for developing competitive markets: medical services for the population, drug supply, communications services, air transportation, oil products and pre-school education.
“As a result of developing competition on the pharmaceutical market prices of drugs for citizens within the pharmacy network will be reduced and procurement of medicines by prevention and treatment facilities will be optimized”, emphasized the Head of FAS Igor Artemyev.
