OREANDA-NEWS. January 30, 2013. National Settlement Depository (NSD), Russia’s central securities depository, and Optima Group announce the launch of a project focused on creation and implementation of a Business Intelligence (BI) system for NSD. Optima Consulting, Optima Group’s subdivision providing a broad range of services in managerial consulting and IT system implementation, is acting as contractor for the project.

The system, which allows to conduct business analysis, will become a simple and affordable tool for the evaluation of the efficiency of the company’s and its businesses’ operations. The system allows the monitoring of indicators through the use of a mobile device with external access.

Eddie Astanin, Chairman of the Executive Board, NSD, said: “Receipt of timely, versatile and credible information is a base for managerial decisions. We pay great attention to this matter.”

BI’s solution for NSD is based on the QlikeView Business Discovery platform allowing users to analyze business information and make decisions. The system includes NSD’s methodology of straight-through evaluation of key performance indicators; as a result, it is possible to understand which factors have contributed to changes in the indicators.

Denis Katyushin, Commercial Director, Optima Consulting, added: “Our solution’s advantage is an advantage of Qlike View: simplicity and accessibility users, short term implementation of the project, and its low cost. Additionally, the flexibility of the platform plays an important role, as due to this we are able to adjust the system according to the changing requirements of corporate clients. This is a very topical issue, because the speed of change in business is constantly rising.”

Implementation of the BI system is being made in stages. At the first stage a pilot model was implemented; this has been done to minimize the potential risks of the big project. This approach was very useful, as the balanced system of indicators based on QlikeView Business Discovery developed during the project demonstrated its compliance with NSD managers’ needs.
Currently the companies are moving to the next stage of cooperation: the pilot model is being transformed into an industrial version of the system of balanced indicators.
