Zaporizhstal I&SIW Spent UAH 3 mn for New Weight Measuring System
OREANDA-NEWS. January 30, 2013. “Zaporizhstal” Integrated Works has completed in full the first stage of the weighing equipment revamping in the field of steel production, in the result of which 7 new electronic weight-measuring complexes had been purchased and installed. The investments amounted about UAH 3 million.
The programme of the weighing equipment staged revamping at “Zaporizhstal” Integrated Works started in September, 2012, until that moment the processes of raw materials weighing, ferroalloys and charge materials were carried out by means of obsolete mechanical beam balances. In the result of implementation of the first stage of the weighing equipment revamping, 7 strain-gage railway balances with maximum load capacity of 10 to 200 tons had been installed.
“It is very important for us to provide a translucid record keeping and control in real time. The new weight measuring system elevates to the higher standard the level of technological processes control, and considerably increases the efficiency of production”, — the General Director of “Zaporizhstal” I&SIW Rostislav Shurma noted.
The new electronic system for weighing of raw and consumable materials by means of the modern strain-gage balances allows performing an accurate measuring, recording and control of freight flows, to minimize the effect of human factor over the process of weight measuring. The error of weighing by means of the new balances makes up 0.1- 0.5 %, earlier it made up about 2%.
