OREANDA-NEWS. January 30, 2013. Under an investment project, SUEK-Kuzbass operations receive 25 diesel railway engines produced by BECKER (Germany) and FERRIT (Czech Republic). The aggregate value of the equipment is 467 mln roubles.

Purchasing such a massive amount of new and powerful diesel locomotives designed as efficient and safe traction machines for hauling materials and transporting people by suspended monorail has to do with the Company's phased withdrawal from using third party services and establishing its own fleet of suspended locomotives.

Nine BECKER KPCS-148, KPCS-96 locomotives go to November 7th, A. D. Ruban, Polysayevskaya and Komsomolets collieries. Taldinskoye-Zapadnoye Colliery Group и Kotinskoye Colliery Group receive 5 FERRIT DLZ110F locomotives each.

Six diesel locomotives — 3 by BECKER and 3 by FERRIT — are allocated to Spetsnaladka operation to haul mechanized supports and miscellaneous heavyweight cargoes whenever equipment needs to be assembled/installed or dismantled/removed at mines. Spetsnaladka has already been consistently and purposefully producing monorail components needed by the Company's collieries. Up to 60 km of monorail beam annually. A repair shop was set up to overhaul the operating locomotives.

On the whole, implementing the program aimed at establishing the Company's own fleet of diesel locomotives will help the Company to reduce the cost of this type of operations, raise the service quality and safety level, and significantly improve the comfort of the miners' labour.
