Sukhoi Delivers Five Su-34 Bombers to Russian Air Force
OREANDA-NEWS. January 30, 2013. Five production Su-34 frontline bombers took off from the runway airport of Sukhoi's branch – V.P.Chkalov Novosibirsk Aircraft Plant and headed to Voronezh to the place of their deployment at the Western Military District air base. The aircraft delivery to the Ministry of Defense of Russia took place at the end of last year and the first five Su-34 arrived at the "Baltimore" air base on December 25. The State contracts for supplies of large quantities of the Su-34 for the Ministry of Defense were signed in 2008 and 2012. These are the largest contracts for combat aircraft supplies under the State armaments program for 2011-2020. Implementation of these contracts will allow soon largely replacing Su-24 frontline bombers still in service and will guarantee the Sukhoi Company and allied enterprises high production load in the long term.
