TITAN-2 Replaced Underwater Pipes under River Kovas
OREANDA-NEWS. January 30, 2013. Specialists of the holding TITAN-2 replaced underwater pipes running under the river of Kovash, at the stretch between the Filtration and Treatment Plant 1 and the town. This specialized hydraulic works were performed using a 40-ton anchor winch and a bucket, which were used to remove a layer of soil.
After the trench was deepened by three meters, the builders entered the most crucial phase of their work – laying two steel pipes inside. The sixty meters long underwater pipes were tied to thick cables and dragged along the bottom of the trench, then installed in the planned position and covered with soil.
In March of this year the builders will be ready to connect the newly laid pipes to the city water supply networks.
Earlier, specialists of the holding took part in the work to repair several facilities of the urban water supply. For example, in 2010 they worked to repair boiler equipment of the Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant – a facility that provides heating and hot water to the town of Sosnovy Bor and its industry. The company specialists performed repair and overhaul of equipment in the town's boiler house, as well as the main pipeline running from building 700 of the LNPP to the urban heating networks. The total of 404 units of heating pipes and valves were repaired.
Today the construction holding TITAN-2 is one of the leading and rapidly developing companies of the North-West Region, as well as being one of 400 largest companies in Russia. It consists of 15 organisations offering unique solutions for the construction of facilities for the nuclear and power supply industries. The company performs a full cycle of construction and installation works: from development of design documentation to commissioning of completed facilities. TITAN-2 works on 15 construction sites of nuclear, power supply and industrial facilities. It's one of the largest contractors involved in the construction of LNPP-2, as well as being the town-forming enterprise of Sosnovy Bor.
