OREANDA-NEWS. January 30, 2013. Thanks to its special technical characteristics, this new piece of equipment can be used to repair hoisting machinery both at the Leningrad NPP-2, and at other sites operated by remote divisions of the holding.

Today, the construction site of LNPP-2 operates ten cranes owned by the holding TITAN-2. Among them – four tracker cranes, the biggest of which, Manitowoc 18000, has a load capacity of 750 tons, three diesel-electric crane – load capacity less than one 100 tons, and a truck crane Grove – hoisting capacity 120 tons. We should also mention the unique park of hoisting and installation machinery manufactured by the French company Potain. That's five tower cranes (three with 40 tons capacity and two with 10 tons). The hoisting fleet will be serviced by a special division for repair of installation and tower cranes, established on the basis of a subsidiary of the holding – OJSC UAT.

The new division's personnel was trained by the manufacturers Manitowoc and Potain and were certified to repair and service the machinery of these brands. In addition, all employees of the division were trained as installers, plumbers, electricians, slingers, and have the highest professional grades in these fields.

To improve mobility of the repair service and to enable maintenance personnel to service not only the construction site of the Leningrad NPP-2, but also holding's remote divisions, such as the Baltic Nuclear Power Plant, TITAN-2 acquired a repair and assistance truck. This mobile workshop has all the necessary installation tools and equipment: screwdrivers, pneumatic power packs, pumps for pumping oil, a 380 V generator. The truck is equipped with a tachograph, and its engine has an environmental class Euro 5. Which means that it can be used to travel from the base in Sosnovy Bor to the site of Baltic NPP across the EU borders.
