OREANDA-NEWS. January 30, 2013. The Heads of competition authorities gathered together in Budapest (Hungary) at a conference organized by Budapest Regional Competition Centre (OECD – Hungary Centre), reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

A delegation of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) had several working meetings at a conference. The delegation was led by Stats-Secretary Andrey Tsarikovskiy, Deputy Head of FAS.

The heads of competition authorities learned on the results of the work of OECD – Hungary Centre and shared experience and achievements accumulated in 2012.

Andrey Tsarikovskiy informed participants about opening FAS Resource-and-Training Centre in Kazan in September 2012. The Centre is the main platform for advancing qualification and retraining of the officers of FAS Russia and the antimonopoly authorities of the CIS member-states. He outlined the main areas of work of the Resource-and-Training Centre and the prospects of its development.

In particular, Andrey Tsarikovskiy pointed out that “taking part in the conference is absolutely essential for the purposes of establishing cooperation between OECD Regional Competition Centre in Budapest and the Resource-and-Training Centre of FAS Russia”.

OECD - Hungary Regional Competition Centre in Budapest was formed as a result of signing the Memorandum of Understanding on 16th February 2005 between the Organization for Cooperation and Development (OECD) and Hungary Competition Authority. The main objective of the Regional Competition Centre is to facilitate development of competition policy and law and competition culture in Eastern, South-Eastern and Central Europe, and, therefore, encourage economic growth and prosperity in the region.
