OREANDA-NEWS. January 28, 2013. Head of Karelia Alexander Khudilainen has held a conference devoted to the scheme of work of Nadvoitsy Aluminium Smelter for the short-term.

Alexey Arnautov, Director of Aluminium Division West of RUSAL, Valentin Chmil, Deputy Head of the Republic of Karelia and Minister of Economic Development of the Republic of Karelia, Artur Myaki, Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Karelia for Prices and Rates, Igor Veksler, head of the administration of Segezha region, took part in the conference.

Issues concerning organization of work Nadvoitsy Aluminium Smelter and joint actions to be undertaken by the republic and by RUSAL according to assignments of the Government of Russia were discussed at the conference.

The Government of the Republic of Karelia and RUSAL have confirmed mutual disinterest in closing the enterprise down and have coordinated their steps for preservation of workplaces and social stability of the enterprise.

Alexey Arnautov has reported that the company is working on preparation of offers on modernization and changing the line of its business. One of the options of modernization, according to Alexey Arnautov, is production of components for motor industry at NAS, the more so as the enterprise has got technological conditions for that.

The new managing director of NAS Nikolay Grachev was introduced at the conference.

Sergey Sorokin who used to be at the head of the enterprise is appointed to the post of Director General SUAL-PM Ltd. in the town of Shelekhov, Irkutsk Region.
