OREANDA-NEWS.  January 28, 2013. Deputy Economy Minister Octavian Calmic briefed that this is stipulated by the project of the EU support with the total commitment of 42 mln. euros to be available for Moldova in 2013. The money is to be invested in equipment of laboratories testing quality of animal products supplied to both: the domestic market and the EU one.

The proper functioning of the laboratories will allow guaranteeing compliance of Moldovan production with European standards. According to the Deputy Economy Minister, up to present the bulk of agricultural products which have been never exported to the EU, has met European requirements. “On the one hand, the regulatory frameworks have been amended in Moldova, on the other one, enterprises have made investments to meet the standards”, he said. But the point was whether the EU would recognize the quality system of Moldova completely meets all European requirements in this area, Octavian Calmic explained.

According to him, the EU assessment mission is arriving in Moldova this year to attest the conformity of the national quality control system. “If the trail is of success, Moldova will enter the next phase - inspections of companies. They which will ensure the adequate quality system and provide all guarantees necessary will be included in a list of companies freely admitted to the EU market”, Calmic said.
