OREANDA-NEWS. January 24, 2013. “Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol” of Metinvest Group is successfully continued work on steel products certification within the framework of realization of competitive capability and client-orientedness increasing strategy on the world markets.

For the first time the Works has received the certificate of Indian Register of Shipping (IRS), which is the proof that our Works has the right to manufacture shipbuilding steels of normal and high strength of grades A, B, D, E, AH32, DG32, EH32, AH36, DH36, EH36.

IRS Certificate, verified by Indian quality standards, shall be valid till November, 2017. It opens new possibilities in cooperation and sales outlets. Every year a technical audit will be carried out at the Works to verify conformance to the Register requirements in the manufacture of the said grades of shipbuilding steels.

Today, "Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol" has more than 50 certificates issued by nine recognized Certification Bodies for rolled metal products of more than 200 steel grades.

"Receipt of the Certificate of Indian Register of Shipping is the proof of high level of conformance of the Works' products to the international quality standards", Aleksandr Loskutov, a Director on Technology and Quality of "Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol" states. "It'll allow to the Works to establish its position at the metal products world markets and meet the increased requirements of customers to the quality of shipbuilding steel rolled products, manufactured at the Works".
