OREANDA-NEWS. January 23, 2013.  On the 21st-22nd of January, 2013, Deputy Director General of ROSATOM for International Activities Nikolay Spasskiy held scheduled consultations with IAEA Director General Yu. Amano and his key deputies in Vienna.

The parties discussed main issues of the cooperation between ROSATOM and IAEA, primarily, in areas such as nuclear power, nuclear safety, and nuclear applications. A significant increase in scale and performance of the joint work in recent years was pointed out.

Special attention was paid to issues related to preparation of the upcoming international senior level conference “Atomic Energy in the XXI Century”, which will take place in Saint-Petersburg in June 2013. There is an understanding that this conference is the largest, strategic event for the global nuclear power and the outmost will be done to make it a success.

The consultations were businesslike, concrete and affirmative. On the Russian side V.I. Voronkov, Russia's Permanent Representative at international organizations in Vienna, was also present.
