TNK-BP to Double Severo-Khokhryakovskoe Field Production in 2013
OREANDA-NEWS. January 23, 2013. TNK-BP informs that it has launched a pilot project to drill wells with multistage fracs in its Severo-Khokhryakovskoe field (estimated ABC1 reserves of 55 mln tons). By now, drilling of the first directional well at well pad 118 has been completed. The well will initially be used for logging and then – for reservoir parameters monitoring. In total, up to eight new horizontal wells with multistage fracs will be drilled here in 2013, reported the press-centre of TNK-BP.
The Severo-Khokhryakovskoe field contains low permeability formations with highly heterogeneous properties. Thanks to the introduction of new drilling and completion technologies the field production will increase twofold in 2013, reaching 160,000 tons.
TNK-BP is continuously ramping up the scope of hi-tech operations when developing hard-to-recover reserves. The Company identified seven priority development targets with an overall potential of approximately 600 mln tons. TNK-BP will invest more than USD100 mln in the implementation of these projects in 2013.
"The task of improving the efficiency of hard-to-recover reserves development requires a comprehensive approach, where new technology plays a key role. TNK-BP has introduced the principle of commercial partnership with leading providers of oilfield services to be able to use hi-tech services and unique engineering solutions for its projects. This principle allows a significant increase in the field development efficiency, including through the sharing of commercial and process risks among partners," emphasized Oleg Mikhailov, TNK-BP Vice President, Operations and Assets Management.
