OREANDA-NEWS. January 23, 2013. The first working meeting of Minister of Environment and Natural Resources of Ukraine Oleh Proskuryakov and head of State Environmental Investment Agency of Ukraine Vladyslav Yakubovskyi with Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Japan to Ukraine Toichi Sakata took place.

In the course of the event the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Japan to Ukraine congratulated Oleh Proskuryakov on his appointment to the post of Minister of Environment and Natural Resources of Ukraine, wished success in work and expressed hopes for fruitful cooperation between Ukraine and Japan in the field of prevention consequences of climate change.

Together with that Toichi Sakata highly estimated the progress achieved by the parties during 2012 in realization of projects under Green Investment Scheme (GIS), in particular of large scale projects and energy-saving blueprints in the public institutions.

At this, the Ambassador highlighted the need to continue active realization of the mentioned projects and solve all working issues within shortest terms.

The Minister of Environment and Natural Resources of Ukraine Oleh Proskuryakov thanked Toichi Sakata for positive views concerning activity of the Ministry and the State Environmental Investment Agency of Ukraine and assured that the sides will jointly advance work in realization of blueprints under GIS in compliance with the international obligations.
