Exhibit Booth Used by Saudi Aramco Wins Top Award
OREANDA-NEWS. January 23, 2013. The ultra-modern and sleek angles of the exhibit booth used by Saudi Aramco at trade shows throughout the United States recently won a Gold Award in the 2012 Event Design Awards from Event Design Magazine. The exhibit booth won in the "Best Trade Show Environment" (over 50-by-50 feet) category, reported the press-centre of Saudi Aramco.
The booth, which is white with asymmetrical columns and arches, features a large screen and audio component for engineers to give technical presentations; Microsoft surface tables; and interactive touch screens and video monitors that communicate company information.
The concepts found in the modern buildings designed by Iraqi-born British architect Zaha Hadid — which convey a sense of motion and contain traditional Arabic elements — also inspired the booth’s design.
The 50-by-50 booth stands out among most at trade shows, creating another level of appeal for Saudi Aramco — a desired effect during times of recruitment.
"I first saw the booth at the Society of Professional Engineers’ convention in San Antonio in October," said Ali Al-Mutairi, director of the Public Affairs Department at Aramco Services Co. in Houston, Texas.
"I was impressed with its modern look and feel, and technological components that enabled our engineers to deliver quality in-booth presentations." He added: "It was very flattering that so many people complimented us on the booth’s design. This award confirms the success of our efforts to design such a bold structure."
The booth was first unveiled at the 2012 Offshore Technology Conference in Houston.
