ANRCETI Distributed 280,6 Thousand Phone Numbers to Providers in 2012
OREANDA-NEWS. January 21, 2013. The most asked-for among numbers of the National Numbering Plan were mobile and fixed communication numbers and geographical location –independent numbers, the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communication and Information Technologies informs. In 2012 the agency distributed 200 thousand numbers for mobile networks and services, 62.6 thousand numbers for fixed networks and 18 thousand geographically-independent numbers.
The latter category is provided to providers of common use networks and services of electronic communications out of blocks of numbers 30xxxxxx and 38xxxxxx , where x=0…9, to use them for VoIP (Voice over IP) services.
This kind of the communications gives a subscriber an opportunity to make fixed-point and migrant end-point calls to/from Internet networks on the basis of switching through H.323, SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) and others. 200 thousand mobile phone numbers were equally distributed between Moldcell (out of the block of numbers 789xxxxx) and Moldtelecom, operating under the Unite trade mark (out of the blocks 675xxxxx and 676xxxxx). In 2012 ANRCETI provided 14.3 thousand fixed phone numbers to Moldtelecom and 48.3 thousand fixed phone numbers to other providers of fixed networks.
As a rule, alternative providers provide these numbers to subscribers to triple-play services (Internet, TV and Telephony). Last year ANRCETI also distributed 28 14xxx short national numbers with the Premium Rate tariff.
In line with the National Numbering Plan, 14xxx short national numbers are given for rendering national services of common purpose, such as taxi service, air and railway service, healthcare service, etc. Premium rate numbers out of blocks 900xxxxx, 905xxxxx and 906xxxxx are provided for content services, such as entertainments, games, competitions, general information, business and marketing information, etc.
