Production Declined 3% in Moldova in Jan-Nov, 2012
OREANDA-NEWS. January 21, 2013. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, as compared with November, 2011 it decreased 7.9%. In January-November, 2012 production in the mining industry grew 4.7% as compared with the same period of 2011.
The processing industry and the energy sector (generation and distribution of electricity and heat) saw the decline of 2.5% and 7.6% respectively. In January-November, 2012 it was produced 1.7% less foodstuffs and beverages than in the same period in 2011.
The decline was formed by 26.5% less amounts of processed and canned fruits and vegetables;, 25% less production of the flour-grinding industry, 17.8% decline in fish canning and production and 3.4% decline in bread-making and bakery production . In this period production and processing of meat grew 14.6%, statistics show.
Dairy production increased 8.2%, vegetable oil and fat production increased by 5.2%, production of mineral water and soft drinks increased 3.1%, production of cacao, chocolate and saccharine confectionary increased by 2.7%, production of wine grew 2.1%. Production of electrical machines and equipment increased 35.8%, production of tele and communications devices grew 17%; it was produced 9% more textiles and 8.5% more medical devices, precious and optical instruments.
Production of chemicals increased 2.6%. Production of other non-metal mineral products (glass, items of concrete, gypsum and cement), increased 2.4%. At the same time, in this period it was produced 23.2% less garments; 22.6% less tobacco goods, 20% less paper and cardboard and 15.8% less machines and equipment.
A decline made up 12.6% in the metallurgic industry. Production of poligraphy and printed materials decreased 11%. Heat and hot water supply decreased 10.6%. Production of finished metalware decreased 9.5%. Amount of woodworking and woodwork production decreased 9.2%; leather and footwear production declined 7.2%; production and distribution of power shrank 5.6%.
