The election of Sakhalin Energy’s CEO as a Chairman of the collegiate steering authority of UNGC Network Russia is yet another testament to recognition of the continuing efforts the company exerts in the area of sustainable development and Andrei Galaev’s personal dedication and commitment.

In April 2012 the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon also appointed Andrei Galaev as a member of the United Nations Global Compact Board. It is the first time a representative from Russia has been elected to join this strategic body of the United Nations Global Compact.

By joining the UN Global Compact in November 2009, Sakhalin Energy has became one of its most active participants. The Company’s sustainable development performance is often considered to be the best international practices and is highly recognised by international and Russian professional organisations and institutes.
