OREANDA-NEWS. January 21, 2013. A ceremony to present the Lastochka electric train on the occasion of its first trip with passengers will be held at St. Petersburg’s Moscow station on 23 January 2013, reported the press-centre of RZD. 

Vladimir Yakunin, President of Russian Railways, and representatives from the Russian Federation and subjects of the Russian Federation will be attending the event.

The Lastochka’s first services will run between St. Petersburg – Chudovo – Novgorod-on-Volkhov and St. Petersburg – Chudovo – Bologoye.

The train will run daily as a double set according to the following timetable:

Train No. 172/872 between Novgorod-on-Volkhov – Chudovo – St. Petersburg, departing daily at 18:30 as a single set (carriages Nos. 6-10) for Chudovo station without stopping, arriving at Chudovo at 19:34 to be linked to high-speed train No. 172 Bologoye – Chudovo – St. Petersburg;

Train No. 172 Bologoye – Chudovo – St. Petersburg, departing at 17:45 daily as a single set (carriages Nos. 1-5) for Chudovo station, with stops at Uglovka at 18:11-18:12; Okulovka at 18:21-18:22 and at Malaya Vishera at 18:57-18:58), arriving at Chudovo at 19:22 to be joined to train No. 172/872 Novgorod-on-Volkhov – Chudovo – St. Petersburg.

After the trains have been coupled, the double set departs from Chudovo station at 19:56 as train No. 172 for St. Petersburg station, arriving at St. Petersburg at 21:15 with stops at Lyuban at 20:16-20:17 and Tosno at 20:33-20:34.

Train No. 171/871 St. Petersburg – Chudovo – Bologoe – Novgorod-on-Volkhov, departing at 07:11 daily as a double set for Chudovo station, arriving at Chudovo at 08:29 where the trains are decoupled, with stops at Tosno at 07:51-07:52 and Luban at 08:07-08:08.

After disconnecting, the front part of the train (carriages Nos. 1-5) departs at 08:45 as train No. 171 to Bologoe station, arriving at 10:25, with stops at Malaya Vishera at 09:07-09:08, Okulovka at 09:43-09:44 and Uglovka at 09:55-09:56.

After disconnecting, the rear part of the train (carriages Nos. 6-10) departs at 08:46 as train No. 171/871 to Novgorod-on-Volkhov station, arriving in Novgorod-on-Volkhov at 09:50 with no stops.

Tickets for the Lastochka electric train can be bought at railway ticket offices selling tickets for long-distance trains, as well as online. Passengers can buy tickets up to 45 days before travelling.
