OREANDA-NEWS. January 18, 2013. "UTair-Cargo" was first performed flight by plane An-74 located in the Arctic Circle village Chersky, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

The first test flight took place, departure from Yakutsk. Turbojet aircraft of this type do not land at the airport, part of the PCF "Airports of the North", the mid-2000s. Earlier "UTair-Cargo" regularly fly to the area on the AN-26.

The AN-74, suitable for use in adverse weather conditions and unpaved airfields, brought villagers from Yakutsk 7 tons of products, equipment and other goods, including medical supplies for Nizhnekolymsk central district hospital. Return flight was taken loads of fish.

Currently, the airline is in talks with local authorities and businesses to launch regular flight program and the basing of the An-74 at the airport "Cherskiy."

Settlement Cherskiy located in the extreme north-eastern Yakutia, to the nearest bigger city - Yakutsk - 1920 km. In addition to air traffic in the summer, link to it can be maintained only by water.
