OREANDA-NEWS. January 17, 2013.  Novovoronezh NPP Plant Manager Vladimir Povarov was handed over a certificate of conformance of the plant’s occupational safety and health management system to requirements of the international standard OHSAS 18001:2007.

The granting of the document was preceded by a large-scale work done by the Novovoronezh NPP Labor Protection Department to establish the occupational safety and health management system, specifically, the training of personnel, identification of hazards and risks at work places, internal audit, writing and adaptation of basic documents.

Novovoronezh NPP successfully passed an external certification audit and inspection. Basing on their results, the Certification Association “Russian Register” confirmed the conformance of the occupational safety and health management system (OSHMS) of Novovoronezh NPP to requirements of the international standard OHSAS 18001:2007.

Representatives of the expert team re-emphasized the perfect work done by the entire plant’s team to establish the system. It has to be reminded that the plant’s labor protection policy states: “Novovoronezh NPP is finding solutions to labor protection tasks facing it, including through implementation of OSHMS in accordance with the international standard OHSAS 18001:2007".

It should be emphasized that over the last decade Novovoronezh NPP has become a laureate of contests for the best labor conditions and protection among enterprises basing in Voronezh Region and the town of Novovoronezh. Representatives of Novovoronezh NPP for many times became prize-winners of contests for knowledge of labor protection rules among Rosenergoatom facilities’ employees.
