Belarus Reports Br500bn Budget Deficit in 2012
OREANDA-NEWS. January 17, 2013. Belarus’ Finance Ministry posted a republican budget deficit of 500 billion Belarusian rubles (Br) (USD 58.3 million at the NBB rate) in January-November 2012, or 0.09% of GDP, an official with the Finance Ministry told.
The republican budget indicates spending and revenues of the central administration, whereas the consolidated budget also includes local budgets.
According to preliminary estimates, republican budget revenues amounted to 95.5 trillion rubles (USD 11.144 billion) in 2012, or 100.5% of the target for the whole year.
Republican budget expenditures reached 96 trillion rubles (USD 11.202 billion), 100% of the target for 2012.
Revenues of the Labour and Welfare Ministry’s social security fund (SSF) are estimated at Br55.9 trillion (USD 6.5 billion), expenditures – Br55.2 trillion (USD 6.4 billion). Thus, the SSF surplus stands at Br700 billion (USD 81.7 million).
Thus, the central government’s budget (republican budget and the SSF budget) is estimated at Br200 billion (USD 23.3 million), the Finance Ministry informed.
