OREANDA-NEWS. January 17, 2013. The Health Ministry of Moldova to launch a 2-year long program to improve health care services with the total commitment of EUR 53 million. To back the program the health Ministry is going to take out a confessional loan from the government of Japan for 30 years at 0.1% interest rat and the 10-year long grace period.

The project is aimed at purchasing modern medical equipment. The government of Moldova has already started negotiating with the government of Japan via the Agency for International Cooperation of Japan.

The equipment is to be installed in 5 hospitals of Moldova, namely, the Republican Hospital, the Institute of Oncology, the Research Centre for Protection of Mother and Child Health, the National Emergency Research-and-Practice Centre, the Holy Trinity municipal hospital and 11 public health centers.

According to Vice-Speaker of Parliament Liliana Palihovici, who has visited Japan, the program will help to improve quality of medical services and adopt new diagnostic and treatment technologies in Moldova.
