OREANDA-NEWS. January 17, 2013. The turnout of Moldova's trade with the EU reached 3 billion 35.5 million dollars in 11 months in 2012, slightly increasing against the same period in 2011, according to the data the National Statistics Bureau made public.

Exports decreased while imports increased, though Moldova's exterior trade with the EU is comparable to the last year's one, when its turnout reached 3 billion 30 million dollars, in spite of the economic slowdown and decrease in demand and consumption. Thus, the export of Moldovan products on the EU market decreased by 6.2 per cent, 921.8 million dollars, while imports increased by 3.5 per cent, 113.7 million dollars.

Experts have recorded a stronger decrease in Moldova's exports to the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, Germany, Poland and Romania. On the other hand, Moldova's exports on the Italian market have kept the same level as in 2011, increasing on the Hungarian, French and Austrian markets.

The EU is Moldova's largest outlet with a 46.7-per-cent share in 11 months in 2012. The EU is also Moldova's largest provider of goods, holding a 44.9-per-cent share.
