OREANDA-NEWS. January 16, 2013. TRL Krosaki Refractories, Belpahar, organised its 21st horticulture exhibition cum flower show at the TRE Club premises in its township at Belpahar on January 9 and 10, 2013. Bishnu Prasad Sahoo, IAS, collector and district magistrate, Jharsuguda, inaugurated the exhibition. Aswini Kumar Kar, IFS, divisional forest officer, northern division, Sambalpur, gave away the prizes to winning participants at the closing ceremony.

Jindal Power, Tamnar; Ultratech Cement, Jharsuguda; OPGC, Banaharpali; and Krushi Bigyan Kendra and Krushi Sewa Kendra, Jharsuguda, also participated in the event. Besides industries, a number of self-help groups, clubs, departments, schools and other institutions took part and displayed their products and projects. Farmers from various villages from the Lakhanpur block and garden lovers from the township exhibited the vegetables and flowers grown by them. KPG Menon and his spouse won the King of the Show award, while SR Pradhan and his spouse won the Queen of the Show award. Several other prizes were given for exhibits and house garden displays by other participants. A total of 33 stalls and entries from 135 farmers and garden lovers were displayed at the exhibition.
