OREANDA-NEWS.  January 16, 2013. For 11 months of 2012 trade surplus of dairy products remained positive and amounted 347.4 million USD. Total exports of dairy products in January-November 2012 amounted to 144.5 thousand tons worth 508.1 million USD. This was started by Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysyazhnyuk.

"We have repeatedly stressed that the agriculture showed a positive foreign trade balance. I would like to specifically emphasize the importance of the export of animal products and in particular - dairy products. So, last year, milk production by agricultural enterprises in Ukraine increased by 13.6%, which was a positive factor for maintaining export position. In total for 11 months of 2012 trade surplus of dairy products remained positive and was 347.4 million USD", Mykola Prysyazhnyuk noted.

The Minister informed that the export of dairy products in January-November of 2012 amounted to 144.5 thousand tons worth 508.1 million USD. According to Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, the largest share of exports of dairy products made cheeses - 43.3% of which was exported nearly 62.5 thousand tons. In addition, it was delivered to foreign markets 41.5 thousand tons of condensed milk, whey - 22.3 thousand tons.

The Minister also said that in the 11 months of 2012 in Ukraine recorded growth in milk production.

During January-November last year, the production of processed liquid milk increased by 6.4% and amounted to 843 thousand tons, butter - by 15.2% and amounted to 82.5 thousand tons. In addition, domestic enterprises increased by 3.6% the production of unfermented fresh and lactic cheese, and the production of fermented milk products increased by 3.4%.
