OREANDA-NEWS. January 16, 2013. With its resonating message “Hand on Hand, Let’s Save the Land,” the Ras Tanura 2012 Environmental Awareness Campaign was inaugurated by Omar Bazuhair, executive director of Refining; Nasir K. Al-Naimi, vice president of Northern Area Oil Operations; Ali Al-Hazmi, general manager of Ras Tanura Refinery; as well as a large number of area managers and division heads, retired vice presidents and executive directors, reported the press-centre of Saudi Aramco.

The campaign, which took place, was the third in a series aimed at Ras Tanura and its surrounding areas. It featured an environmental message coupled with guidance on personal hygiene, preventive health screening and safety awareness.

The Ras Tanura governor was represented by his deputy, Mohammed Abdulwahab Budaei, Public Security, Industrial Security, Civil Defense and the Region Frontier Guard heads for the region.

More than 10,000 visitors were estimated to have attended the three-day event, along with 600 school students and 100 guests from various disabled children and orphans associations, about twice the number of visitors in previous campaigns, according to Mutib Al-Harbi of the Ras Tanura Refinery Engineering Department. The event featured 22 booths and exhibits designed to educate and inform visitors.

More than 20 participants from Saudi Aramco and regional municipal agencies, utilities and social support clubs also welcomed hundreds of students and families from the area and beyond.
