OREANDA-NEWS. January 15, 2013.  JSC “EMAlliance” a part of the largest Russian power machine building group “Power Machines” and SC “AES Ust’- Kamenogorskaya TPP” have entered into the agreement on modernization of RAP-68 (regenerative air preheater) of  Ust’- Kamenogorskaya TPP- the major heat supply source of Ust’- Kamenogorsk city, which covers up to 80% of house and utility sector loads.

 This is not the first joint project, earlier in 2008 the specialists of JSC “Power Machines” carried out the inspection and examination of 80 MW steam turbine which had been manufactured by the company for Ust’- Kamenogorskaya TPP in 1993. 

 The equipment will be manufactured on the main production site of “EMAlliance” – Taganrog boiler manufacturing plant “Krasny Kotelschik”. The time of performance of the contract is June 2013. The products weight is approximately 14 tones.

 The scope of modernization includes upgraded radial seals with the compound lever, circular seals, a shaft seal, an axial seal, rotor flanges and radial seal belts.

 Regenerative air preheater installed on the steam boilers has been designed for heating the air entering burner devices of the boiler unit using flue gas heat recovery. 

 RAP is a typical product of “Krasny Kotelschik”. Since 2005 the following RAPs have been manufactured and shipped: RAP-41 for Kremenchug TPP, RAP-54 for Burshtynskaya TPP, RAP-41M for Novo-Lipetsk metallurgical complex, RAP-8.8 and RAP-12.8 for TPP “Bar” India.

 The putting into operation of the equipment will allow to reduce air cross flow to the gas side from 43% to 12% which will result in the efficiency upgrading of the boiler and the plant as a whole.
