OREANDA-NEWS. January 14, 2013.  Plan on Regional Development and Poverty Elimination of Areas of Dabie Mountain (2011-2020) was approved last December by State Council. According to the Plan, "2 vertical transport channels and 4 horizontal transport channels" will be built in Mt.Dabie Areas. These 6 transport channels are like a character of "L", and they will link Wanjiang City Belt, Wuhan City Cluster and Central Plains Economic Zone and extend to the whole country.

2 vertical transport channels are Shangqiu-Lu'an-Wangjiang transport channel and Lankao-Huangchuan-Macheng-Qichun transport channel. These 2 transport channels will link 10 counties of Anhui in 12 planned counties.

4 horizontal transport channels are Ningling-Minquan-Lankao transport channel, Zhoukou-Fuyang-Bengbu transport channel, Lu'an-Huangchuan-Xinyang transport channel and Wuhan-Anqing-Hefei transport channel. Except 1 transport channel, the other 3 run through Anhui.

In addition, the Plan also requires the construction of tourism routes in Mt. Dabie Areas and the improvement of navigation condition of arteries of Huai River and tributaries of Guo River.

Anhui will build Shouxian-Lu'an highway, Jinzhai-Yuexi highway, Huoshan-Yuexi highway, Huoshan-Shucheng highway, Fuyang-Huaibin highway, Linquan-Xincai highway to move 12 planned counties forward.
