OREANDA-NEWS. January 14, 2013. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov is expecting from leading national experts-economists propositions directed to the development of the domestic market of Ukraine.

So, in the course of a meeting with the leading economists the head of the Government reminded that Ukraine started 2013 with the realistic budget which, at this, envisages further economic development and raise of social payments. Now, in his words, elaboration of certain programs is underway which will enable realization of macroeconomic showings planned in the budget.

“In general, the focus, of course, is on the development of the domestic market, on replacement of a certain import share by national production, which will give us an opportunity to stabilize payment balance,” Mykola Azarov emphasized. “Do we have opportunities for the development of our domestic market? Of course, we do!”

For instance, according to the Prime Minister, we should work over increase of consumption of national meat by Ukrainians. “Despite the fact that consumption of meat has grown by 6 kilograms a year per capita, anyway this showing is one and a half times lower than in Europe. Of course, Ukraine has all the possibilities and conditions for internal production of meat,” Mykola Azarov emphasized.

The same, in his words, concerns the number of office and trade areas: “What do we mean under increase of trading areas? We mean improvement of trade turnover, first of all. We fall two times behind Europe, however, recently it was done a lot in Kyiv”.

In addition, the Head of the Government underlined that among urgent issues are affordable accommodation, available loans, reduction of interest rates etc.

“That is, the agenda includes a series of issues the solving of which will enable to determine a path for economic and social growth for 2013, 2014 and the following years,” Mykola Azarov explained.
