OREANDA-NEWS. January 11, 2013. The government decided at a meeting to open three new embassies in the Netherlands, Canada and Qatar in 2013.

Attending the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Iurie Leanca said that the embassy in Holland will be located in the Hague city, where many important international and European organizations have their headquarters too.

Leanca also said that it is necessary to open an embassy in Ottawa as many Moldovans from Canada face different difficulties, being forced to apply for the services of the Moldovan embassy in Washington.

Iurie Leanca underlined that the embassy in Qatar will be Moldova's single embassy in the Persian Gulf region. Leanca expressed his conviction that the new diplomatic missions will contribute to the process of accessing the economic development funds provided by these countries.

Prime Minister Vlad Filat noted that Moldova will step up its diplomatic cooperation efforts with the countries in the Orient.
