Extra Ice Restrictions Introduced in Big Port St. Petersburg
OREANDA-NEWS. January 10, 2013. In view of changed ice conditions, subzero temperature and ice forecast, extra ice restrictions are to be introduced in Big Port St. Petersburg from January 23, 2013. From that moment according to the Harbor Master’s order, Ice I vessels are allowed to carry out ice navigation only with assistance of icebreakers, ice class vessels Ice2 and over are allowed to carry out non-escorted voyages upon icebreaker’s permission and recommendation or with icebreaker’s assistance of icebreakers.
Ice class categories are those of the Russian Maritime Register.
