President: Belarus Wants to Borrow USD 2 bln from Russia Cheaply
OREANDA-NEWS. January 10, 2013. Belarus is asking Russia to provide it with USD 2 billion worth of cheap loans, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said.
“If we are brothers, we need to get help. We need a few billion U.S. dollars worth of inexpensive credits. These are commercial loans to modernize enterprises,” he said.
Lukashenko also said that he had had “hard negotiations” with Russia’s government and president.
“There was a great deal of questions for us to discuss, including financial matters,” he said.
