OREANDA-NEWS. January 10, 2013. Eurasia Insurance Company has paid KZT1.6m in respect of tanker engine damage - the press service of the insurance company reported.

On December 30, 2011 the engine of a petrochemical tanker GEM № 8, which moved from Mayliao, Taiwan in Bataan, Philippines broke down. The tanker GEM № 8 is owned by Taiwanese company Global Energy Maritime Corporation, which specializes in the transportation of oil products.

Property interest of the owner of the tanker, including equipment failure, was reinsured by Eurasia Insurance Company, which within its share of liability made an interim claim payment US\\$11,000 to reimburse the costs associated with the settlement of the loss.
