KTZ: Summing up and Set Tasks for 2013
OREANDA-NEWS. January 9, 2013. A meeting on the results of the railway transport in 2012 and priorities for 2013 held in JSC "NC "KTZ" with the participation of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Serik Akhmetov. Results of the national company for the past period were considered positive. The main tasks focus on execution priorities outlined in President Nursultan Nazarbayev’s message "Strategy "Kazakhstan-2050".
Report on the progress of JSC "NC "KTZ" in 2012 was made by company’s president Askar Mamin.
In 2012 the National Company "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" made a plan for the main operational and financial performance.
Cargo turnover exceeded 2011 by 5.4% to 235.7 billion ton-km;
Passenger traffic was 16.7 billion passenger-kilometers which is 14% higher than in 2011.
Net income up to 2012 was at the level 116.7 billion which is almost 2 times higher than in 2008.
Labour productivity has reached 5.3 million tenge per person up from 2011 by 15.2%.
Capital investment in 2012 was in the amount of 499 billion 515 million tenge, which is 1.3 times more than in 2011. Thus achieved a wholly development budget.
The company introduces new technology into manufacturing processes and upgrade assets. In this morally and physically worn out assets updated high-tech products of own production.
For contribution to the implementation of the State Program of Forced Industrial-Innovative Development JSC "NC "KTZ" was awarded a special prize of the President "Altyn Sapa" in the nomination "Leader of industrialization in 2012." KTZ honored with this award for the second year in a row.
The President of JSC "NC “KTZ” Askar Mamin announced objectives of the company in freight turnover, passenger turnover, financial performance, and strategic actions in 2013.
Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov stressed in his speech that the railway company in 2012 fulfilled all orders of the President and the Government.
KTZ commissioned electric locomotives Plant and Technology Centre in transport with a dual system of education in Astana, opened the second railway crossing between Kazakhstan and China "Altynkol-Khorgos" running high-speed passenger trains between Almaty and Petropavl, Astana and Aktobe. It began the construction of new railways Arkalyk-Shubarkol and Zhezkazgan-Beineu, earned workshops for the production of large car casting on JSC "Vostokmashzavod" in Oskemen and shunting locomotives in Shu city in Zhambyl region.
Head of Government emphasized the fact that many of the strategic objectives in the field of transport and logistics, as reflected in the Message of Nursultan Nazarbayev to the people "Strategy" Kazakhstan-2050 " to be concentrated in the transportation industry.
Government is currently developing a program "Global Infrastructure Integration" and the state program for the development of infrastructure.
The Prime Minister also announced the need to resolve the question of subsidizing passenger traffic and the reduction of the regulated sector to rail infrastructure services.
In addition, Serik Akhmetov noted the need to develop comprehensive plans for a network of transport and logistics centers within the country and abroad, particularly in countries such as China, Iran, on the Black Sea coast, in the Baltic states.
- To further promotion of foreign markets we need to develop end-service infrastructure. Because we do not have open access to the sea, we need modern infrastructure service, and we need to develop it, - the Prime Minister noted.
Given the foreign priority should accelerate implementation of the project to create an integrated transport and logical of the participating countries of the Common Economic Space.
