OREANDA-NEWS. January 9, 2013. EADS has commissioned T-Systems to operate around 150,000 PC workstations. The Deutsche Telekom subsidiary will gradually assume responsibility for over a hundred EADS sites in Europe. They include the Airbus branches in Toulouse (France), Filton (UK), Broughton (UK), Madrid (Spain) and Hamburg as well as sites of the Group's subsidiaries Cassidian, Astrium and Eurocopter. The total order will run for a term of six years.

"The major deal from EADS will reinforce our position in the European ICT market. It also shows that our international growth is on course for success", says Deutsche Telekom Board Member Reinhard Clemens. T-Systems already supports the Airbus workstation computers. This service is now being expanded to include other EADS subsidiaries.

EADS is opting to rely on a homogeneous IT infrastructure. In the future, employees will benefit from the advantages of standardized workplace systems, which will cut costs and strengthen the company's competitive standing. In T Systems, EADS has opted in favor of a proven partner which, while providing service for Airbus, has gained experience in the management of workstation computers in a pan-European company. T-Systems engineers will be on hand in future to repair or replace computer hardware when necessary. The service will be provided by qualified specialists based throughout Europe. All T-Systems has to do if new settings are needed is to activate its remote access to the computers. The remote maintenance service will be provided by the Deutsche Telekom subsidiary's Spanish staff.
