OREANDA-NEWS. January 09, 2013. Regional head of Siri Islands production and operation fields announced that the daily production capacity of the region will be increased by 10000 barrels of oil within three months, reported the press-centre of NIOC.

Talking to NIOC reporters, Siavash baher, Regional head of Siri Island's production and operation fields mentioned that the more water injection involved, the more the production will be. He said that, currently a new project called Nasr with the production capacity of 120000 injection barrels has been started and motor pumps are installing accordingly.

Baher also added that Iranian Offshore Oil Company is planning to inject water to Esfand field and in order to increase the oil and gas production capacity, new well are due to be drilled soon.

He asserted that to this end, the motor pumps are being replaced by Alvand drilling rig. By all the plans directed to boos oil production, it is expected that by the end of the year, 10000 barrels of oil per day will be added to the production capacity of Siri Island.

Baher also stated that NGL project is going to be started officially in near future.
