OREANDA-NEWS. December 28, 2012. OJSC KAMAZ became the sole shareholder of OAO BEGISHEVO AIRPORT having taken up shares from minority shareholders.

In June 2008, OJSC KAMAZ became the holder of 99.96% of shares of OAO BEGISHEVO AIRPORT. OAO BEGISHEVO ARIPORT owns an airport of the same name built in 1971. Solid investments were made in the renewal of the fixed assets and ground-support equipment. This made it possible for the renewed "air gateway" to receive foreign 1st and 2nd class aircraft.

Nowadays, BEGISHEVO is the only international airport of Zakamye Region and its industrial cities (Naberezhnye Chelny, Nizhnekamsk, Zainsk, Yelabuga, Mendeleevsk, Menzelinsk) with about 1.35 million residents and Gross Regional Product of more than half of Tatarstan’s GRP. The annual number of served passengers exceeds 300 thousand. In addition, it is the only airport in Tatarstan now which certified its management system for compliance with the international standard ISO 9001:2008. The Board of Directors of OAO BEGISHEVO AIRPORT elected the sole executive – the company’s general director Sergey Romantsov. At the end of 2011, BEGISHEVO received sale proceeds of RUB 524.2 million. Gross profit was RUB 62.74 million, net profit amounted to RUB 17.92 million.
