OREANDA-NEWS. December 28, 2012. Power engineers of JSC “MOESK” plan to reconstruct the capital city’s 110/10/6 substation “Cherkizovo” till year 2015, with the replacement of all the equipment.

Four power transformers with the total installed capacity of 162 MVA are to be replaced. 110 kV outdoor switchgear shall substitute the modern factory-assembled switch-gear (FASG) with SF6 gas insulation. The constructors will build new crossing points for the cable overhangs of PTL (power transmission line), a building of 10 kV indoor switchgear, a complex of sewage disposal plants and oil receivers. 6 kV indoor switchgear will be reconstructed with a replacement of oil circuit breakers by vacuum circuit breakers.

Today the substations energize the enterprises of transport and railroad, State Unitary Enterprise “Mossvet”, new residential complexes. The reconstruction will make it possible to increase the power supply reliability of the Central Administrative Circuit of the capital city, and owing to the capacity reserve – to provide the complex programs fulfillment for the communal and engineering infrastructure development, including lightning of the streets and creation of the modern light and color environment, the transportation services improvement.

As a result of the renovation, the substation’s installed capacity will reach 176 MVA. The modern innovative solutions will be applied at substation “Cherkizovo”, as well as at other renewed energy facilities of the Central Electric Grids: laying of the high voltage class underground cable lines with a cross-linked polyethylene insulation, installation of the modern switching equipment, microprocessor devices of the relay protection and automatic equipment, automated process control systems, electric power commercial accounting, as well as guard and technological video surveillance.
