Domodedovo Airport Announced Most Punctual Airlines in November
OREANDA-NEWS. December 26, 2012. The traditional monthly contest of punctuality determined the best airlines in eight different categories (depending on the flights frequency and the passenger traffic).
The winners of November: Transaero Airlines headed the first category and operated 1670 flights exactly according to schedule. UTair won in the second category and operated 157 flights without delays. Saratov Airlines headed the third category of the contest, and had 118 on-time flights. Tulpar Air which operated 12 flights without delays became the leader of the fourth category.
There are the following leaders in terms of punctuality among foreign airlines: Lufthansa (the fifth category, 164 on-time flights), Swiss (the sixth category, 109 flights), Iberia (the seventh category, 37 flights) and Vueling (the eighth category, 29 flights without delays).
The monthly contest among the most punctual airlines-partners of Domodedovo Moscow Airport has been hold for more than five years; it is an effective tool to estimate the air carriers accuracy. The amount of Russian and foreign airlines increased by one third during the contest existence. According to data through December 1, 2012, 80 airlines operate flights from Domodedovo in 246 domestic and international destinations, 80 of which are unique for the Moscow region.
Moscow Domodedovo Airport is the largest airport of Russia in terms of passenger traffic. In 2011, total passenger traffic of the airport amounted to 25,7 million people which let Domodedovo to become the first Russian airport to join the category of the largest airports in Europe due to Airports Council International (ACI) classification. Moscow Domodedovo Airport is the base airport in Russia for member airlines of two largest global airline alliances – oneworld and Star Alliance. For the third year in a row, Moscow Domodedovo Airport was on top of the list of the best airports in Eastern Europe in terms of the service quality, according to the annual survey by the independent research company Skytrax Research (UK).
