Novosibirsk Airport Took Part in Transport of Russia Exhibition
OREANDA-NEWS. December 26, 2012. The delegation, headed by Eugueny Yankilevich, with the CEO, took part in the International Exhibition “Transport of Russia”, held in Moscow Gostiny Dvor.
The exhibition presented the representatives of all types of transport enterprises, specialized government bodies, academia, and civil society organizations. Novosibirsk airport demonstrated its capabilities at the joint stand of NOVAPORT, which includes airports of Novosibirsk, Chelyabinsk, Volgograd, Tomsk, Chita and Astrakhan.
Novosibirsk airport representatives have held talks with a number of Russian and foreign companies on the development of cooperation and the opening of new routes. In particular, there were considered the strategic issues of cooperation in the field of transfer of passenger transportation from Central Asia to Siberia and the Far East as well as from northern Siberia to Southeast Asia. Also there was discussed a possibility of opening a promising routes from Novosibirsk to Kaliningrad, Helsinki and Tel Aviv.
Novosibirsk International Airport (Tolmachevo) is the largest air hub east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. Capacity is 1,800 passengers per hour on domestic flights and 750 passengers per hour on international flights. The airport has two runways. In 2012 it plans to serve 3.2 million passengers. The airport has been nominated for World Routes Awards in the category "The Best Airport of CIS 2012".
International Transport Russia is held within the annual Transport Week and is intended to provide dialogue between business and government to work together on the challenges facing the transport industry of the Russian Federation.Transport Week is a unique format that includes a number of business, academic, social and cultural events that gather together professionals of the transport industry.
