OREANDA-NEWS. December 26, 2012. A Russian company is ready to invest about EUR 40 million in building a factory which will make up to 20 million square meters of gypsum boards per annum. The factory will be based in the town of Gatovo, Minsk District. The information was released by Deputy Architecture and Construction Minister Dmitry Semenkevich.

“There are plans to employ foreign direct investments to build a new factory in Belarus to make high-quality competitive products - gypsum boards. The investor has been found”/ - the source reported.

According to the Deputy Minister, the project is important because it will make much land in Minsk downtown suitable for office and housing construction by relocating the existing manufacturing facilities of OJSC Belgips outside the city.

The new factory will be able to make top-quality gypsum boards in compliance with the globally accepted norms and standards. The factory will be able to make 20 million square meters of gypsum boards per annum. Energy consumption will be reduced by roughly 25% in comparison with the amount of energy used now.
