OREANDA-NEWS. December 26, 2012. The Board of Aegis Limited is pleased to announce that Mr. Sandip Sen has been appointed as the interim CEO of Aegis Limited from 1 December 2012. Sandip takes over from Mr. Aparup Sengupta, who spent about eight years with the company.

In his new role Sandip will report to the board of the company. On a day-to-day basis, Sandip will work along with an executive committee comprised of core leaders of Aegis. As the interim CEO, Sandip will continue to lead and manage the BPO business of Aegis which represents over 80% of the company’s revenues of over USD 1 billion. Sandip has been with the organization right since inception and has been a part of the core team responsible for the phenomenal growth of the company.

Mr. SK Jha, who started the technology practice in Aegis, continues to be the CEO of the technology business which constitutes the balance 20% of the company’s revenues. He reports to the board of AGC Networks Ltd. AGC Networks, a BSE-listed entity, is amongst the leaders in the unified communications space in India. Since the acquisition of AGC Networks Ltd by Aegis two years ago, AGC has more than doubled its revenues. SK Jha is ably supported by Mr. Sanjeev Verma, President, AGC Networks, in growing Aegis’s technology practice.

The organization which is now 60,000 people strong has been built by the core management team who continue in key position like Mr. CM Sharma, CFO, Mr. Sudhir Agarwal, Strategic Initiatives, Mr. Rahuk Kamlakar, CTO, Mr. SM Gupta, Chief Peoples Officer etc. Each geography is led by a country head who oversees operations in their respective regions and some of them joined Aegis through acquisition and continue to lead the teams in these geographies such as Rajiv Ahuja who heads ASEAN, Middle East and Africa, Kobus van der Westhuizen in South Africa, and Fernando Padron in Argentina. In addition, Sandeep Gulati, who has been part of Aegis for the last three years, heads the Indian operation and Christopher Luxford heads ANZ operations.

Aegis continues to consolidate its core business of BPO and technology with a focus on improving operating margins and customer experience.

The board of Aegis appreciates the contribution of its outgoing CEO Aparup Sengupta in making the company as one of the leaders in the BPO space and wishes him all the best for his future ventures. His tenure at Aegis ended on 30 November 2012.
