OREANDA-NEWS. December 25, 2012. JSC "Nizhnekamskshina", which is part of the JSC TATNEFT petrochemical complex, had become a winner at the VIII-th All-Russian contest "Leader of Environmental Activity in Russia - 2012". The results of the contest were announced at the II-nd Congress of Ecologists of Russia, held in Moscow.

This distinguished title was awarded to "Nizhnekamskshina" for introduction and implementation of a systematized approach to protection of the environment from the adverse effects of pollution factors and practical implementation of the effective environmental program aimed at improving the environmental situation, not only at "Nizhnekamskshina", but also within the entire Nizhnekamsk industrial hub territory.

There is a closed system of water recycling operating at the JSC "Nizhnekamskshina". Commissioning of the complex facilities for waste water treatment and return to production for technical purposes has allowed using mainly the treated waste water drain as process water. The factory pursues a targeted work line to save water resources conducting regular audits and the equipment units' planned preventive maintenance.

The continuous work on collection, processing and disposal of wastes generated during the process of tires manufacturing is equally important for JSC "Nizhnekaksmshina". The company's activities in the field of the wastes handling and consumption are performed in accordance with the requirements of the Russian Federation environmental legislation. The Rosprirodnadzor Department for the Republic of Tatarstan has granted the JSC "Nizhnekamskshina" a license to carry out collection, utilization, decontamination and disposal of hazardous waste.

Much attention is paid to the problems of land resources management and preventing the soil contamination. Systematical works are carried out for the enterprise site territory development and new vegetation planting.

The success of efforts to improve the environmental management and environment conservancy has been confirmed by a high level of the environmental management system performance and maintenance of the environment favorable quality at the enterprise.
