OREANDA-NEWS. December 21, 2012. Overall GCC Project of the Year, for Abu Dhabi's Yas Waterworld (shared with the consultancy firm Atkins). Voltas had won this honour for its electro-mechanical works for Abu Dhabi's Etihad Towers in 2011 and for Abu Dhabi's Ferrari World in 2010.

Previously, the company had also won a health and safety award, as well as Project Manager of the Year award for one of its team members.

Held under the aegis of ITP Group (publishers of MEP and Construction Week, among many others), the MEP Middle East Awards is the region’s premier forum for honouring exceptional achievement in the mechanical, electrical and plumbing sector.

The event stresses innovations, technologies and processes to drive down costs and ensure adherence to best-practice standards. The award also recognises excellence in MEP design and installation underpinning those iconic projects contributing to the evolving and rapidly-maturing construction landscape in the Gulf.

It was in that context that the judges lauded Voltas’s 'hugely successful year working on iconic projects' and its 'establishment of a strong credible business in Qatar since the downturn in the UAE', even while acknowledging the business implications of the 'current constraints and economic volatility'.

For Voltas, this latest victory is a further boost to its well-established reputation and brand equity as a preferred projects provider in the Middle East market.
