OREANDA-NEWS. December 19, 2012. Chinese Ministry of Finance (MOF) has agreed that 15 projects based in Anhui province are entitled to foreign government loans of USD 142 million in 2012, representing a year-on-year increase of 12 percent, the Anhui Provincial Department of Finance said on Monday.

The figure makes up 10.6 percent of the nation's total, enabling Anhui to rank second among 37 provinces.

Those projects largely cover areas for locals' well-being like public health, culture, education and environmental protection. Among them are smart public transportation throughout the province and biodiversity conservation in Tianzhu Mountain.

It is highly beneficial to get foreign government loans because they are granted at low interest rates and usually come with technical and management support, the department said.
