Ukraine Spent UAH 700 mn Programs in Livestock Industry in 2012
OREANDA-NEWS. December 19, 2012. This year, a major focus of the government support was programs in livestock, which has been allocated about 700 million UAH for. In particular, at the beginning of December accrued 304 million UAH of subsidies for the maintenance and preservation of the young cattle, 16 million UAH for the acquisition of individual milking units and 62.4 million UAH for partial compensation for the purchase of breeding heifers and cows. This was started by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysyazhnyuk on December 19 at a briefing at the Government House.
"This year, we have managed for the first time to halt the decline in cattle and livestock due to increase of subsidies to the owners for the maintenance and safety of young cattle. Thus, the government encourages farmers to create family farms. In addition, under the scrutiny are reimbursement for purchased breeding heifers, heifers, cows, dairy, meat and combined direction and partial reimbursement of the cost for construction and reconstruction of livestock facilities. In total by the programs in livestock this year was allocated about 700 million UAH", Mykola Prysyazhnyuk said.
The Minister also informed that for the maintenance and safety of young cattle in early December credited 304 million UAH of grants, these funds will receive almost 340 thousand hosts while keeping more 509 thousand calves. Mykola Prysyazhnyuk noted that the program of state support has become an effective mechanism, so it will be continued in 2013. In addition, the Minister noted the impact of other programs.
"So, at the beginning of December the owners credited about 16 million UAH for the purchased 3751 installation of individual milking. And nearly 90 companies purchased 10.6 million heads of breeding heifers and cows. Therefore, 62.4 million UAH of partial reimbursement of their costs has been credited from the state budget", Mykola Prysyazhnyuk added.
The Minister said that next year the government introduces new budget subsidies for the maintenance and safety of young sheep.
