OREANDA-NEWS. December 18, 2012. OMZ Special Steels, part of OMZ Group, has launched new four high-performance bandsawing machines (2 UZAY 2200s, one UZAY 1300 and one 1010 HF). The equipment is provided by the Turkish UZAY MAKINA and are fixed in workshops #66, #47 and #20 for topping and coring.

The largest UZAY 2200-type machine, worth 12 million roubles has a length of 9m and is able to perform topping of metal blocks weighing 200 tons and with a diameter of 2,200mm.

The project costs more than 30 million roubles.

The new cutting-edge equipment will allow the company not only to break free heavy-duty lathes for other operations, but to cut labour intensity 8 times while topping, which, in its turn, will increase productivity and cut expenses.
