TENEX Honours Best Teachers in "Rosatom School" Industry Project
OREANDA-NEWS. December 18, 2012. An awards ceremony was held in State Corporation Rosatom’s office celebrating the winners of competitions under the “Rosatom School” industry project, for which JSC TENEX is the title sponsor.
Covering locations where nuclear industry enterprises are present, the project aims to provide school students in these ‘nuclear’ towns with access to quality education immediately in their communities of residence.
Participants in the ceremony included the Director-General of State Corporation Rosatom, Sergei Kiriyenko, SC Rosatom’s HR Director Dmitry Bulavinov, member of Russia’s Federation Council Lyubov Glebova, and TENEX’s Acting Director-General Lyudmila Zalimskaya.
The schools competition saw six education establishments winning: M.V. Lomonosov Gymnasium No. 91 and Single-Gender Lyceum No. 103, Harmony, of Zheleznogorsk; Comprehensive Secondary School No. 16 and Gymnasium No. 2 of Sarov, Comprehensive Secondary School No. 9 of Sosnovy Bor, and Pilot Cosmonaut O.G. Makarov Gymnasium of Udomlya. The overall winner of the schools competition, which had prize money of 1 million roubles, was Gymnasium No. 2 of Sarov.
Honorary certificates and golden badges of “Rosatom School” were also presented to the 18 best teachers of physics, mathematics, computer science, chemistry, biology, and primary school teachers.
Those recognised as the best teachers and school managers were Irina Litvinova of Zarechny’s Lyceum No. 230, Inna Gevlich of Balakovo’s Lyceum No. 2, and Vera Maslakova, representing Gymnasium No. 127 of Snezhinsk.
They were presented with their awards by Lyudmila Zalimskaya, who emphasised the special role that the “Rosatom School” project plays in shaping HR potential for State Corporation Rosatom, which aims to attain global leadership in nuclear technology. In the words of Lyudmila Zalimskaya, “The project doesn’t just allow us to spot and take care of talented children from their very early years, but also has a great importance for teachers, who get the opportunity to do training courses with grants from State Corporation Rosatom at foreign education centres boasting the most advanced education techniques and programmes.”
